Over 200 athletes braved the rightly named ‘chilly’ duathlon, consisting of a 2 mile run, 10 mile traffic-free bike and 2 mile run to finish. The Castle Combe motor racing circuit made a great HQ for the race. The event was perfect for athletes wanting an early race under their belt and a guage of how much hard work has gone into winter training!
42nd- Dan Luke
51st- Melissa Reid + Nicole Walters (4th Open Female)
Gylly elite paratriathlete Melissa Reid raced well with her alternative guide Nicole Walters, giving them a chance to gain race experience for the year ahead. The girls held strong pace throughout to place 51st overall, showing superb bike strength and team work on the tandem to be 36th fastest bike split.
Gylly triathlete Dan Luke had a good race, holding a strong run pace before and after the bike. Placing 42nd Dan is showing good speed early in the year, putting him on track for age-group goals.
A big thanks to Head Coach Allan Reid for going up to support and motivate.
