Guide for Nipper Sessions

Nipper beach sessions are great fun but the weather is usually unpredictable, it is Cornwall after all! Everyone enjoys themselves more and performs better if they have the right clothing and equipment.

I hope that you find the following useful although I would stress that this is not a definitive list, but hopefully a good starting point:

Clothing

  • A good fitting wetsuit is an absolute must!!
  • Wetsuit boots and gloves (until the sea warms up)
  • Swimsuits/Jammers
  • Rash vest x 2
  • Swimming hat
  • Goggles
  • Beach shorts
  • T-shirt
  • Towels
  • Warm hat and clothes for afterwards
  • Sun hat
  • Drink bottles x 2

Additional

  • Sun cream/bloc
  • Lip salve
  • Vaseline (for wetsuit rub)

Please remember all nippers must be registered in for the session with a parent/guardian. A wristband will be issued to show you have been signed in.

At the end of the session all nippers accompanied by a parent/guardian must sign out and return the wristbands immediately, so we can ensure everyone has been accounted for.

If your nipper leaves the session early, please remember to sign them out.

A parent/guardian must remain on the beach at all times, we have to adhere to strict helper to nipper ratios, which can be affected if a coach/helper needs to look after a nipper outside of the session.

Finally, we are a club based upon volunteers, from help on the registration desk, through to water cover and the coaching team. As a club we need to continue to build on all these parts of the club. So if you would like to be part of a great team and give something back, please let us know!!
