Membership

Membership for the 2011/12 season is now open!

After the recent committee meeting the following approach has been agreed in relation to the situation of the Nipper membership for the 2011/12 season.

As with the pool sessions, the membership numbers will be split across the 2012 competing age ranges of:

10 and under

and

11 – 13 years

In both these age ranges we will be accepting a maximum of 50 members. Please note that one membership place in each age range will be reserved until our membership in that age range has been filled. This reserved place can be granted to an individual on an exceptional performance basis. Performance criteria will be published on this website shortly.

As we have a large number of prospective members on our waiting list, existing members will have priority to renew their membership up to 31 October 2011.

After the 31 October 2011 if there are membership spaces available in the above age ranges, then membership will be open to everyone until all spaces are filled.

Therefore, for existing members please make sure your membership is renewed before 31 October, to be guaranteed your membership place, as after that time you will only be able to renew your membership if spaces are available in your 2012 competing age range.

Any questions please contact either:

Matthew or Hugh for Nippers

or

Allan or Melissa for Juniors and Adults

How it works

Club membership runs from 1st October – 30th September. If you are a new member and join during the year you will be able to pay a reduced price depending on the month that you join. When October 1st is reached again you will be asked to re-join. Once you become a member, you will have to pay full price each year if you wish to continue your membership with the club.

Every member will have to pay the £2 pool fee when training and there is a £1 sub every club morning. This will go directly back into the club to source new equipment.

Supporting members are allowed to train with the club but will not be able to volunteer patrol or compete in Surf Life Saving competitions.

What you get for your money

Everybody who joins will have to pay the standard membership fee.

  • Membership with Surf Life Saving GB and UK Athletics race license.
  • 3rd party insurance while training and competing with the club.
  • You will receive expert advice from our qualified coaches.
  • Gain experience in surf life saving from our practicing lifeguards.
  • The use of the clubs facilities and equipment.
  • Compete for the club at Cornish and National competitions in surf life saving and biathlons (swim + run).
  • Have the chance to wear club clothing while at competitions.
  • Most importantly, you will be able to train with others aiming for a similar goal to yourself. We hope to have frequent social events and encourage all members to attend the Sunday club mornings.

What you get for joining British Triathlon:

If you want to train in triathlon, these are the benefits:

  • Affiliation with British Triathlon.
  • Insurance to use and be instructed on racing bikes by our triathlon coaches.
  • Cheaper entry into triathlon races.
  • Inclusion into the South West Triathlon series.
  • Train with others to reach a much higher performance for yourself. You can also enter a triathlon as a team, only competing individually in 1 event.
  • And of course the chance to wear the club clothing!
