On Friday 1 July, we will be holding another assessment evening, from 18:00 to 19:00 for all those who wish to compete in the water based events at the Cornish Championship to be held on 16 & 17 July in Carbis Bay.
The relevant National Surf Safety Awards (NSSA) level required to compete in the water activities are as follows:
8 & 9 years – Level 1
10 & 11 years – Level 2
12 & 13 years – Level 3
Please see the current awards sheet below, which shows who has attained which level. Therefore, if you wish to compete at Carbis Bay in the water events and you are not listed on the attached or you have not attained the required level for your age, then please make sure you attend on Friday. If you have any problems in attending on Friday night, please contact Matthew (07801 580106) or Hugh (07593 680231), as soon as possible.
Please note that even if you do hold the required NSSA level for the water events, you can still compete at the Cornish Championships in all the beach events (Flags, Sprints, 1km run etc), and we would like as many members as we can to participate in the Cornish Championships.
The deadline for entry to the Cornish Championships (£5 per nipper) is Sunday 3 July. If you wish to enter, please could you email Mrs Christophers on firstname.lastname@example.org, with all your details.
Finally, the evening session this week will take place on Thursday 30 June from 18:00. These sessions are designed for those nippers who wish to compete in the water based events at Carbis Bay and the Nationals in August, who already hold the required NSSA level. We will be holding a beach specific evening over the next few weeks for all members to practise for the beach events, watch this space for further details.
Please contact Matthew (07801 580106) or Hugh (07593 680231) if you have any questions on any of the above.
See you all soon on a beach near you!
