Penzance July Aquathlon 2011

Well done to those who made the trip down to Penzance for the 2011 July Jubilee Pool Aquathlon. It was a scorcha of an evening (I’m not complaining), and most Gylly competitors had some super speedy times with lots of PB’s to show for it.

Gylly also brought home some medals, with Emily (2nd) and Melissa (3rd) in the Open Female catergory, behind Alice Nicholas of Mounts Bay Harriers. Charlotte Emsden also had a strong race, finishing 2nd Junior Female – only 8 seconds behind 1st place.

The 200m swim (in suprisingly warm water for once) and a 2 mile dash along the prom is a great way to get introduced into multi-sport racing, and Mounts Bay do a great job organising it. The next race will be on August 31st for anyone interested in giving it a go.
