Gylly dominated the girls events at the Perranporth Junior Aquathon this weekend.
An Aquathon is the swim and run parts of a triathlon, with the run on the beach, and the participants had to contend with crashing surf and squalls strong enough to take out marquees on frames.
Gyllyngvase girls took first medal trophies in 4 of the nine age groups between 7 and 15 years, with a silver in a 5th category. The boys also made a significant challenge.
Izzy Steele maintained her dominant form, comfortably striding home well ahead of not only the girls but also the boys, who started at the same time.
Charlotte Emsden took 1st for the 14 years, Alice Emsden 2nd for the 11 years, Rosie Boulton was first 10 year old and Freya Hocking was first 9 year old home.
With entries from all over West Cornwall and the North coast, the competition was strong. Nipper coaches from Gyllynvase, Hugh Emsden and Matt Trebilcock, were delighted with the performance of the Club, which is a reflection of their hard work and dedication this year.
