A new fundraising challenge open to all Gylly members. Each year the club will be holding this event, raising funds for charities and local projects.
The event has been put on hold for the past couple of years, it should be coming back in 2016.
Calling all Gylly personnel…
On Saturday 4 August 2012, Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving and Triathlon Club will be holding a sponsored Dawn till Dusk board paddle from Gyllyngvase Beach, in Falmouth. From Dawn (6:00am) till Dusk (20:43) we need at least 1 club member to be paddling around a course of approximately 800 metres (3 buoys) in length just off Gyllyngvase Beach.
We are raising money to be shared between the RNLI, an organisation very close to our club and Melissa Reid, our club member and junior coach, to help her and her guide Alice in their quest for World Championship Para-triathlon glory and then hopefully bigger and better things in the future! Go to www.rnli.org.uk or www.melissareid.org.uk for further information on these two very worthwhile causes we wish to support this year.
So, whether you are 8 or 80 come along and ‘Get on Board’ and help raise some money! If you want an additional challenge why not get sponsored per lap and see how many you can do throughout the day. We may even have a prize or two for the most laps completed!
So come along to Gylly from Dawn till Dusk on Saturday 4 August and join the club on the beach for a day of fun!
To book a slot to ensure that we will have at least 1 club member paddling at all times, please contact Matthew Trebilcock on 07801 580106.
