Lifeguard Challenge

This gruelling endurance event is open to members who think they’re brave enough. Starting from the lifeguard hut at Gylly, it involves an off-road dash to Maenporth (3K), a board paddle to Swanpool (2K) and finishes with a swim back to Gylly (1K).

The event is back in 2015! More info here >>

A big thank you to Georgia Christophers, Marissa Nichols and Courtney-Lee Reid for water cover. Also to Reggie, Julie Drage, Emily Trebilcock, James Mundell, Jules and Michelle without them it would not have been able to go ahead. Sorry if I have missed any helpers. The 2010 Event

The first  Gylly SLSC Lifeguard Challenge kicked off with perfect race conditions. Not too hot or too cold, with no wind to be seen. Matthew Trewella won the event, closely followed by Allan Reid and Hugo Smith. The result of the day had to go to Izzy Steele, finishing in a fantastic 5th place. All 8 competitors will hopefully be back next year – testing their life saving fitness skills to the limits!
